Name: Liana de La Fontaine
Age: 21 Occupation: Shop Clerk/Arcanist/Freelancer Pronouns: She/her Species: Human Height: 174 cm A straightforward manner characterizes her person relatively. This partial bluntness is usually unwavering, although she does go quiet if losing track of matters, options, or an answer to something. Diligent, but withdrawn and not readily talking much about herself, she is usually active and nondescript. Although not adverse to most interaction, she typically does not initiate conversation without forcing herself to accomplish that. Recollection exists behind that unconscious unwillingness, albeit hesitation has lessened over time since becoming more familiar with the landscape.

Despite her appearance and demeanor suggesting morbid interests, she reads frequently on various topics for her own benefit concerning work; not all of them solemn. That said, she keeps bones at times, which are occasionally 'animated' by her and allowed to roam minutely. Smoke diffusers are crafted and used by her occasionally when around less crowded or vacant areas. Many of these are nondescript markers for travel by various individuals and are integrated with arcane cryptography. Resulting smoke forms specific shapes and may remain as long as the canister or base diffuser does, the fumes not moving beyond those shapes even with interfering wind. Certain individuals pivy to this tip that over after a certain duration to dissipate the effect, the nontoxic smoke then vanishing. Buys, makes, and uses clips that occasionally are altered to 'speak' certain phrases in response to reverberations in the air, or audible stimuli. Several of these are variously worn by her on occasion. The number on her person tends to fluctuate depending on the amount she needs to use at a given time. These are often left at important locations and may be retrieved later. Despite the cost, she may otherwise leave certain clips around random locatives nondescriptly in order to confuse or divert persons she does not want to interact with. Similarly, keeps one around her doorstep when away from her residence occasionally, typically to state when she might return. Occasionally hikes to ghost town settings nearby the province in order to practice craft without complication, or otherwise test related items. Sometimes meets Eos on these meanders, who seems to occasion relevant locales in order to not break anything important with her own ventures. Usually keeps a logbook of her day-to-day activities in order to not lose track of herself. Does not have an online presence, alike to Celeste and Asteria, whom she interacts with on occasion. Instead, a local focus is typical, her products not advertised or shipped as theirs are frequently. Finds that easier, not having consistent support as they do. Has written poetry, usually melancholy in tone. She finds that reflective on a conscious and emotional level. Although not a newcomer to relevant scenes, she has only recently embraced the idea of arcane practices. Can be considered adept at it regardless. Somewhat introverted, but does not find socialization tiring by far. Had a normal upbringing in regards to schooling and leisure. Although she was not unaware of going-ons, having relative freedom caused interest in attempting beyond what she knew. Does not have college certification and does not believe she needs that. Does not like sea and ocean settings, the ebb of the waves unnerving her. This source of this unease is uncertain to her, but likely correlates to prior attempts at swimming. Has no allergies as far as she is aware. That does not mean she actively smells grass and flowers; aside from when hiking. Has an interest in archaic artwork and architecture, often finding the styles and details present unique. Sometimes visits museums to see relevant pieces. Archaic designs are occasionally inspiration for her own craft. Resulting work involves attempted unique directions. Potentially a coffee and tea addict. |

Narrative
Her life was typical initially, as she did by far not stand out herself from the norm. Albeit aware that else existed beyond her scope of understanding, other aspects took up her time. Occasionally, she did speak to someone who was not quite within her familiarity, but that was often an occurrence that existed in-passing. Through people met variously, she essentially became interested and involved in certain activities, which now coincide with her usual life. Various practices have been picked up with relative ease, and no one is complaining about this because of the support that allows. She was not certain what to make of matters at first, but soon became used to unusual occurrences. Efforts are ongoing and may continue depending on what happens ambiently. Typically, not ornate in direction, instead preferring utility over reputation. Initial extrinsicism may partly be reason for this decision, but the difference in surroundings have not prompted change in decision otherwise. Dark clothing is often frequented to that degree regardless of the season, the reason for this potentially various. Withdrawn, but not averse to interaction, a stoic and steadfast demeanor characterises her person.
An often-literary individual in habit, she often seems to text other individuals with prose and other short-hand wording. When included in matters, appears friendlier to a degree, although this does not differ by far when retaining agency alone. Frequently visits osteria and trattoria with one or more individuals, which often varies between the same persons, and often talks about written works, events or distant occurrences during those time frames. Appears to have a sense of organization with her responsibilities, often putting effort into relevant patterns. Smoke, smog, and vapour are utilised in a manner that can be considered either capnomancy or libanomancy. To gain insight into surrounding factors, communication with other powers is at times yet a focus, the fumes from incense, candles, or other sources influenced by such forces evidently.
It is infrequent that such occurrences are evident, with the prevalence of other factors. Yet there have been durations where the use of a cigarette or other fumigatory has formed images from the resulting streams. These do not appear to be disregarded as a factor, and the precedent that incense typically drives away negative forces brings further depth. To that end, she has had foresight on various occurrences, activity at times stemmed before it can occur or become worse. Other means of communication evidently are possible, although not often attempted through capacity already ambiently present. As planes of existence vary along a myriad axis, it is not unreasonable to believe that she and related practitioners are looking into other realities on a minute scale, through the ens that pass along those lines. There is not always basis for complete trust evidently, but enough through necessity that risks are regardless considered. Related to this is the frequent use of necromancy, or reanimation of dead matter. The remains of various species are repurposed through arcane means. It is not beyond rhetoric to assume that such structures are again inhabited by the individual that passed, if not another consciousness that fulfills the same role. The scope of awareness per invocated individual is dubious, albeit that a degree of communication appears to exist between that consciousness and her own self. There may not be agreement to resulting advice, although there is enough logic to assume that at least part of related discourse is valid to a situation. There are gods and spirits, in colloquial terms, nearly everywhere. Directing one to attach itself to a physical frame is not beyond reason either. How this is managed is technically uncertain, albeit it is assumed that a conduit exists in some form that adheres the consciousness to the skeletal form. If a consciousness is dismissed or is no longer able to hold onto that structure, inertia may be again attributed to the remains in question. Once dormancy is again achieved, what is left behind is carefully collected and stored in a nondescript location. As this is not always possible, with decay and breakage having relevance on a physical level, there is occasional need to replace those structures. This is something that does not take too much time out of her schedule, although a factor that can vary per attempted basis. |
